Two Horror Movies Where I Stand With Critics High Rating But Public Rated Low

As a movie lover, I have watched countless movies. And due to that fact, I have also watched so many garbage movies too. But some of those are actually entertaining.  Also when you search for a movie in google, the first thing that comes with it is - it's rating. And it actually impacts your thoughts.

Sometimes the reviews are good. But there are plenty movies, which aren't well received by critics, but it actually worked for the public. And of course those movies are really entertaining. Now here I am going to talk about two particular horror movies, where I thought critics got it properly than public. You may think why two movies? Why not 10 or more? Well, honestly, now I can only think of these two movies.

The first one I want to mention is "The Babadook"(2014). Talk about performance, well well, Essie Davis as Amelia and Noah Wiseman as Sam, specially Noah Wiseman. I was terrified as well as amazed to see the performance of the little man. I am pretty sure he is big now, but at that time, I wonder how old was he, probably 7 or 8 I am not sure.

If you google about this movie, you are going to see critics reviews are higher whereas public review is low. People have difficulty understanding the story, what is happening and why is happening. Why the lady acting so weird, why they are petting a ghost in the house. I can guess where the problem is. First of all if you search for high rated horror movies, this one shows up. Now people are mostly like jump scare in horror movies, I like it too. But when you present it in a different way, it's just get complicated.

I have watched it a few times but don't want to watch it again as it is terrifying. And the main two actors did a really good job. If you have not watched it, I suggest you start watching it by expanding your mind, stay calm and try to get inside the story. Once you get it, you'll realize it is one of the best survival psychological horror movie.

The next movie I am going to talk about is "Hereditary" (2018). If you google it and see, the audience reviews are low. Because of that same reason. No jump scare from the start to end, totally unpredictable. I believe the people who grabbed popcorn and just waiting for the turn to see the ghost and get scared and spill the whole thing on him - that never happened.

As for me, Hereditary is one of the best horror movie I ever saw. You want to know what acting is? Watch Tony Collet's performance on this one. The movie got an eerie feeling all the time. The story kept building and building. I really never thought it's going to end it in such way. You get to see the ghost in the last 5 minutes. If you can keep up with it, then you are going to get scared and also its going to be inside your head for a long time. The director of the movie is Ari Aster and man, what a great job he did.

If you are a movie lover, who really appreciate the art, you are definitely going to like these two movies. But majority of the people want a plain story, they can like inception, but if you make a horror movie and present it like inception, they literally had trouble digesting it. I don't blame anyone. People can have different views and I respect that. Even if you have watched it and didn't like, I want you to give it a try again. These two movies are on a different level.

Thanks for reading my blog.
